Welcome to Statiscal Foundations for AI!
This module aims to develop a critical understanding of the mathematical and statistical foundations that underpin artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. You will engage with a range of quantitative approaches, exploring how statistical reasoning, hypothesis testing, and data modelling contribute to the design, evaluation, and interpretation of AI systems.
Through the integration of computing, data visualisation, and exploratory analysis, you will apply appropriate techniques to analyse complex datasets and draw meaningful, context-sensitive conclusions. Emphasis is placed on the ability to select, justify, and apply methods autonomously in support of robust, and interpretable AI solutions.
By the end of this module, you will have a strong foundations that allow you to critically assess the engineering/bussiness/medical solutions, with
scientific-view and NOT a magical-view
